“I’m sick of all these knights in shining armor parts, I want to do something worthwhile like plays and films that have something to say”. – Tyrone Power
There are so many talented and handsome actors from the golden age. To be honest, it took me a while to decide who would be the first in the handsome icon section. I finally decided to choose the one and only Tyrone Power.
Tyrone Power was born on May 5, 1914 in Cincinnati, Ohio. He died November 15, 1958 in Madrid, Spain at the young age of 44. He had a short life but a successful and legendary life. He starred along side some of the most beautiful actresses such as Rita Hayworth, Marlene Dietrich, Ava Gardner, and so many more. He did most of his acting on stage and struggled to find acting jobs when he came to Hollywood. This might come as a surprise considering that he was born into a family that were so successful in the acting industry. He was mostly casts as the dreamy leading actor in romantic films or as the heroic swashbuckler. He did a number of successful films but found that his best work was on stage. Towards the end of his life he decided to focus more on pursuing plays and took a break from film. When he finally came around to making another film he suffered from a heart attack on set and was rushed to the hospital. Sadly he passed away leaving behind his three children, his wife Deborah and the film, Solomon and Sheba, unfinished.
